About
Eileen and I (Dan) are members of Fresno City Blessing Church in Fresno, California where Paulus Kristanto and his wife, Aling are our pastors and are dearest friends.

We all felt a need to focus on evangelism, and the mission of our church is to build the people who build the church and to build the church that builds the Kingdom of God. We’re a small church that started out as a ministry to Indonesian students studying at Fresno State, and over the years the church has been very much like a close family.

When we started in the early 1980’s, we had only four churches — one in Fresno, one in San Francisco, one in Los Angeles, and one in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Since that time, many students studied and became pastors and churches spread througout the world until we had about 400 churches world-wide and divided into two organizations.

Sometimes I feel Eileen and I are late bloomers given so many of my friends are apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers and many have planted many churches while Eileen and I worked in our careers.

But, over the years we and our families have been involved in evangelism, prayer, youth, and music ministries and feel we have an international ministry calling on our lives. We have also had many opportunities to receive really good training and put it into practice. Many years ago, Eileen went through Evangelism Explosion in Singapore. My parents and I went through the same program here in Fresno bringing it back to our church as trainers. Living through an era where many different cults were commonly reaching out, we were able to sit under some of the best trainers in cult evangelism.

And, then awhile back I spotted the Way of the Master by Ray Comfort and Kurt Cameron on TV and was so amazed I had to check it out. My brother in law was going through their online training course, and I wanted to get the training course for our church. Eileen and I bought the beginner’s course, the intermediate course, the crash course, and the child evangelism book plus a few thousand tracts, and then our church got another set of training materials as well, and we provided training for the beginner’s series to our church. We are also going out and witnessing in public areas once a month and giving out tracts.

But, I found it difficult to find really good Gospel tracts. I do not want to express any lack of appreciation for the work others have done creating tracts, and I don’t want to criticize those who actually do something rather than doing nothing. However, I felt strongly that many tracts are lacking in many ways. Some are boring and will get tossed almost immediately as religious propaganda. Other tracts are more fun to read but lack substance. That is, they may take a person into an aborted conversion or a false repentance or do the job half way, and this is something I feel can be very dangerous if it serves to innoculate people against the Gospel.

But, good Gospel tracts are available. It may take a bit of sacrifice of time to search through them. The Way of the Master has many of the best tracts I have seen. I’m starting to sound like a salesman for them. But, they have some which are humorous and entertaining or intriguing and fun. Yet, many of them also give the Gospel in a very clear and Biblical way that is easy to understand.

Even so, I feel that a more deep study and time in prayer is needed to work through coming up with a way to bring the Gospel to the whole world, and some writers and ministers are focusing on evangelizing the family. Others are focused on care cell or home cell division in the church where home cells, like biological cells mature, grow, and divide. Others work through prayer evangelism, which I feel is vital, but not something to be done to the exclusion of other means of sharing.

One think I noticed about the way people often learn is that they learn more quickly when they feel a need for what they are about to learn. That is, they tend to dig in and cherish what they are learning when it meets a need they have. And one need we all have is to have the comfort of knowing our loved ones are saved and going to heaven. We also need to have a relationship with God ourselves and to have that kind of relationship where we know we are hearing from God and God is hearing from us, that we can get answers to prayers.

So, in this, I want to set things up so that people feel drawn to the next level of study and activity and not pushed or bullied or nagged into it in some boring way. I would like to see this program become something that will enable people to share the Gospel most effectively and make disciples easily who can also do likewise.

So, please pray for this to be a blessing to people and to God and that many people will be brought into the Kingdom of God through it.

I would like to thank my pastor, Paulus Kristanto and Aling and the people at our church for their wonderful involvement and sharing and commitment to winning souls. They are a great source of encouragement. I would like to thank those at People’s Church many years ago who helped many churches in the area grow their evangelism ministries. I would love to thank my wife for her prayer, support, and encouragement.

Thanks!
